چکیده
Infrared Functional Imaging was applied to the study of Raynaud’s Phenomenon obtaing a simultaneous assessment of the thermal properties of all five fingers of both hands of a group of patients with respect of a control group. The method is based on the use of high-resolution telethermography imaging and allows identification of objective parameters from the re-warming curves of finger immediately after a 2 min cold stress. The evaluation of the area under the temperature versus time curve, namely the temperature integral INT, provides a figure particularly effective in describing the thermal properties of the finger. 18 healthy volunteers, 20 Secondary Scleroderma and 20 Primary Raynaud’s Phenomenon patients were studied subsequently to clinical evaluation and nailfold capillaroscopy. This new approach highlighted a quite different behaviour between patients with Primary Raynaud’s Phenomenon and those with early diagnosed Systemic Sclerosis This new method, compared with other existing techniques, seems to be useful tool to discriminate between PRP and RP secondary to SSc.

CASE REPORT Idiopathic Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Presenting with Raynaud’s Phenomenon: Neurophysiological Evaluation
Carpal tunnel syndrome and Raynaud’s phenomena are common diseases and coexist in some patients while in others Raynaud’s phenomenon may be a clinical feature of carpal tunnel syndrome. I describe an interesting case with Raynaud’s phenomenon as a predominant presenting clinical feature due to an underlying mild carpal tunnel syndrome with preferential involvement of the autonomic fibers. Noctu...

Raynaud’s phenomenon is a common clinical disorder encountered by dermatologists. This condition usually occurs in response to exposure to cold temperature or emotional stress, and it is characterized by recurrent vasospasm in the fingers and toes. Hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) is a well-recognized cause of secondary Raynaud’s phenomenon. The pathogenesis of HAVS involves a complex interpl...
متن کاملACUPUNCTURE AND RAYNAUD’S About Raynaud’s phenomenon
Raynaud’s phenomenon is caused by episodic vasospasm and ischaemia of the extremities (especially the fingers and toes) in response to a fall in temperature (even taking a cold milk bottle out of the fridge or a cool wind on a hot beach (RSA 2012)) or an emotional stimulus.(Goundry 2012) This response results in a characteristic colour change in the extremities from white, to blue, to red. In a...

متن کاملClassification of Raynaud’s Disease
Nowadays, the human race is becoming more sensitive to the changes in the environment. This sensitivity may result in triggering a number of diseases, including Raynaud’s disease, which constitutes a change in the vascular functions of the human body. Conferring to the facts and figures of Raynaud, every 5 out of 100 Americans suffer from this disease. On the other hand, merely 1 out of 5 pursu...
